Since 2022, the Surf Safe Campaign has assisted secondary school students across 58 unique schools with the rapid digitalisation brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. This includes educating them on online civility, digital literacy and data protection through conduct-in-school programmes.
The Surf Safe Campaign taught students how to use technology and communicate with it, the importance of keeping a clean digital footprint and using strong passwords, exercising positive interactions online, internet addiction and how it affects mental health, identifying and dealing with scams, and data privacy.
In 2025, the programme has been expanded to also reach primary schools with a refreshed and improved curriculum that is updated to meet the evolving needs of young students in understanding technology, the digital space, their role to play in it and how to stay safe within it.
